Bali, that beautiful Indonesia island with the sunny beaches and Instagrammable landscapes. Everyone thinks it’s a lovebirds haven and only that. Well, it is definitely the place to be for lovers, but it doesn’t mean it’s not the place for you if you’re not going with your partner. I went there as a solo traveler and I remember people’s comments about that before I go. That’s mainly why I’m writing this post, to show you that the heavenly island is for everyone. I made sure of that myself, especially of staying there for 10 unforgettable days and meeting all sorts of travelers. So, who is Bali for?

Couples

Of course, the obvious one, lovers. Yes, this may be a stereotype but I can’t deny that Bali is definitely a wonderful option for honeymooners or partners on vacation. The beautiful scapes, the beaches with its beach clubs, the nightlife, the mouthwatering cuisine, the posh resorts down south in Nusa Dua, everything is tailored for a perfect couple getaway. Also, Ubud’s renowned Bali Swing is not just loaded with swings, but also unique nests overlooking the jungle especially for the lovebirds out there.

Friends

Groups of friends would definitely enjoy Bali too especially down south in areas like Kuta and Seminyak where the nightlife is at its finest! There are plenty of beach clubs such as Potato Head, Finns VIP Beach Club, and, Ku De Ta. At night, you can also head to Sky Garden club or La Favela, a vintage dining experience that turns into a club later at night.

Families

This was the least expected one for me because honestly, I felt that Bali wasn’t for the older generations. But, really, why not? Older parents can still chill and relax by the beach or at a beautiful resort. I went to Mulia’s Rapture and I saw people of all ages there. Resorts and villas down in Nusa Dua are definitely a destination for them and as for younger parents, well, Bali’s for you and the little ones too. I saw couples with their baby boy/girl posing in the nests in Bali Swing and frankly speaking, that was so cute! Mason’s Adventures’ Elephant Park and the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary would also be super appealing for kids.

Solo travelers

If you’re a social butterfly, then you shouldn’t worry at all if you’re on your own. I met lots of people when I was out partying, hiking, at the beach, and even at the airport. I also mingled with locals; most of the Balinese are super friendly. And whatever your interests are, you’ll find something for you from the categories I’m mentioning next.

Party animals

Yes, as we previously mentioned, nightlife in Bali is legit. Not just the bars, clubs, and beach clubs I’m talking about. But, actually, there are some concerts held on the island every now and then. I was surprised to find that there were many performances by international artists there. I attended Rapture by Mulia which featured Fergie, Liam Payne, and Mark Ronson as the main headliners. I had the time of my life!

The peaceful ones

If you’re not into the hustle and bustle, don’t fret!  There are some peaceful quiet beaches or you can go island hopping. Maybe visit Nusa Penida, Lembongan, or Ceningan for a day each. Or you can always head to Ubud for the jungle vibes away from the touristy beach life. I’d highly recommend yoga classes at the Yoga Barn if you’d like to disconnect yourself a bit.

Adventurers

Believe it or not, but if you’re an adventure traveler, there are some activities for you as well! The first thing you can do is rafting; this is pretty common in Bali. You can find it in many places including Bali Swing and Mason’s Adventures. Speaking of Bali Swing, the hardest one, the one with the harness, would pretty much be your thing if you’re looking for some adrenaline rush. Additionally, hiking and trekking are pretty common too. Surfers

If there’s something Bali’s famous for more than being a love birds nest, then it’s being a surfers hub. The crashing waves of its beaches make it the perfect environment to surf and even learn since there are many surf camps there. The hottest spot where I saw most surfers head to was definitely Canggu.

Digital nomads

Last but not least, Bali is the perfect destination for digital nomads and travelers looking for a new home. Other than the magnificent nature, lifestyle, and all that it has to offer, it comes very cheap. Living there would be super affordable if you have a steady income from your online business. There are also plenty of volunteer programs there that you might find interesting such as IVHQ or Volunteers Programs Bali.
