Living in Dahab as a digital nomad or just decided to leave the city and work remotely from Dahab for a while? Many people are doing that right now for all the right reasons. Why work from home or a cubicle when you can work from the Red Sea in the comfort of your bathing suit and flip-flops? Also, Dahab being the morning town it is and its stunning nature can make you more productive. That’s why I’ve compiled a list of my favorite Dahab cafés, restaurants, and work-friendly places where you can get things done.

Dahab Cafés and Restaurants to Work From
I’ve been going to Dahab for years – it’s my home away from home and I like going there once or twice a year for a few weeks to work remotely. This is how I recharge my battery, or that’s what I like to call it. I tried so many different places over the years and these are the Dahab cafés and restaurants where I like to occasionally work from.

#1 Coffee & Cotton
This is hands down one of my favorite Dahab cafés to work from. Unfortunately, they have limited seating and no view, but they serve literally the BEST coffee in Dahab. They’re the only place in town that outsources specialty coffee, so that’s why.
The staff there is also super friendly and there are always little furry friends coming and going, so it’s always a fun environment to work in. Also, I LOVE the aesthetics and the interiors!
- WiFi: good internet connection available.
- Coffee/food: 1000/10 for the coffee! As for the food, the menu lacks variety but I had a mid-day snack there a couple of times and it was tasty and clean.
- Atmosphere (& noise level): background music, conversations, the outdoor area is a busy central area in Dahab.
- Price range: EGP 100-200
- Payment: Cash and e-wallet available.
- Location: The Lighthouse area – end of Fanar Street, right across from the German Bakery and next to Seaweed.
- Opening hours: From 8 AM to 7 PM, Tuesdays are off.

- Great coffee.
- Good internet.
- Friendly staff.
- Central location.
- Affordable.
- AC available indoors.
- Pet-friendly.
Cons
- Limited seating (especially indoors).
- No sea view.
- Menu could use more food variety.
#2 Tim’s Munch
This is not just one of my favorite Dahab cafés to work, but also to have breakfast/brunch! The owners are such sweethearts and the food is super delicious – what more can you ask for? Internet? They have that too.
- WiFi: good internet connection available.
- Coffee/food: Wide selection of scrumptious dishes.
- Atmosphere (& noise level): background music, conversations, and it’s on a rooftop right on the central area of the promenade.
- Price range: EGP 100-200
- Payment: Cash only.
- Location: The Lighthouse area – on the promenade, above H2O Divers.
- Opening hours: From 8:30 AM – 4 PM (closed during Friday prayers from 12:30 to 1:30 PM)
Pros
- Great food.
- Good internet.
- Central location.
- Affordable.
- Availability of sockets for charging devices.
- Pet-friendly.
Cons
- Gets super busy over the weekends and holidays.
- Outdoor seating only.
- Can get a bit noisy on the promenade mid-day.
#3 The Vegan Lab
If you’re vegan or vegetarian, you just found your haven in Dahab! But if you’re not, don’t let the name discourage you! This is the kind of place where you realize that healthy food can be super tasty. Anyhow, the real reason why The Vegan Lab is one of my all-time favorite Dahab cafés is that they serve the BEST smoothie bowls in Egypt. I’m not exaggerating! Those who know me well/who’ve been following me for a while know how much I’m obsessed with smoothie bowls. So, when I recommend a place, you know that’s the one! The Vegan Lab constantly comes up with new smoothie bowl recipes and they’re always delicious and filling.
- WiFi: good internet connection available.
- Coffee/food: 1000/10 for the food! Not the best coffee unless you like vegan options.
- Atmosphere (& noise level): Normally quiet.
- Price range: EGP 200-300
- Payment: Cash and e-wallet available.
- Location: The Lighthouse area – on Fanar Street
- Opening hours: From 7 AM – 2:45 PM and from 4 PM to 9 PM
Pros
- Good internet.
- The BEST smoothie bowls.
- Vegan and vegetarian options.
- Gluten-free options.
- Availability of sockets for charging devices.
- Central location.
- Pet-friendly.
Cons
- A bit pricey in comparison to other options.
- Limited indoor seating.
- No sea view.
#4 Breakfast Café
As the name suggests, this is one of the best Dahab cafés to have breakfast or brunch. They have a good WiFi connection as well, so you want to get a few things in the morning, it’s a good spot. Their food is also great, so it’s a win-win!
- WiFi: good internet connection available.
- Coffee/food: Coffee wasn’t the best in my opinion, but their food is great.
- Atmosphere (& noise level): background music, conversations.
- Price range: EGP 100-300
- Payment: Cash, e-wallet available.
- Location: The Lighthouse area – at the beginning of Fanar Street, inside Alf Leila Boutique Hotel.
- Opening hours: From 8 AM to 3:30 PM.
Pros
- Good WiFi connection.
- Great food.
- Friendly staff.
- Pet-friendly.
- They have a board/card games section in case you want to take a break.
- They have kombucha!
Cons
- Closes early.
- No sea view.
- Fans and no AC.

#5 Eel Garden View
This is one of my all time favorite Dahab restaurants for all the right reasons – they have good WiFi, amazing food, incredibly friendly staff, and direct access to the beach. It’s the perfect combination to spend a day of both work and fun.
- WiFi: good internet connection available.
- Coffee/food: They serve some of the most DELICIOUS dishes in Dahab. There’s also a very wide variety.
- Atmosphere (& noise level): background music, conversations.
- Price range: Minimum charge of EGP 150.
- Payment: Cash only.
- Location: Eel Garden area – on the promenade.
- Opening hours: From 9 AM to 10 PM.
Pros
- Good internet.
- Great food and wide variety of it.
- Sea view and direct access to the beach.
- Friendly staff.
- Lots of seating options; both indoors and outdoors.
Cons
- Eel Garden’s beach is a rocky one so you need to wear water shoes.
- It’s not pet-friendly.
- Not a big fan of their music.
- No electricity sockets outdoors.
- Cash only.
#6 Tota
Another addition to work-friendly Dahab cafés and restaurants, located on Fanar Street, is Tota. The good thing about this place is that it’s open all day and it’s a restaurant, so you can go for a long workday and have breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner. Most of the seating areas is on a spacious rooftop, so that’s a cool environment. It’s also almost always relatively empty so it can be quiet as well.
- WiFi: good internet connection available.
- Coffee/food: Haven’t tried their coffee, but their food is good. It was much better last year (2023) than when I tried it recently, but it wasn’t bad.
- Atmosphere (& noise level): background music, conversations, mostly quiet.
- Price range: EGP 100-300
- Payment: Cash and e-wallet available.
- Location: The Lighthouse area – on Fanar Street.
- Opening hours: From 12 PM – 11 PM.
Pros
- Good internet.
- They have a spacious rooftop.
- Open all day.
- Relatively quiet environment.
Cons
- No sea view.
- Might not meet expectations of coffee enthusiats.
- Based on my most recent experience, food quality has not been consistent.
#7 Coffee Wheel
One of my favorite Dahab cafés is Coffee Wheel. They offer another good coffee option, which is essential to many of us while working. The place offers good vibes and a sea view. Unfortunately, they no longer have WiFi; which is a major inconvenience, but if you have your own wireless WiFi or if you don’t need internet, it’s a good place to work. The best thing about it is that it’s open till 11 PM, so if you’re a late coffee drinker, you’ve got your back covered. Also, they often offer sunset yoga sessions on their rooftop, so that can be the ultimate break to recharge.

#8 Mirage Village
Mirage Village is a hotel but it also has its own café and restaurant where non-guests are welcome. It’s actually popular among digital nomads as they have good internet, never super busy, and directly on the promenade.
- WiFi: good internet connection available.
- Coffee/food: Food isn’t the best but they have options.
- Atmosphere (& noise level): background music, conversations, but often quiet.
- Price range: EGP 100-300
- Location: The Lighthouse area – on the promenade.
- Opening hours: From 7:30 AM to 12 AM.
Pros
- Good internet.
- Lots of seating available.
- Sea view.
- Usually quiet.
- Open all day.
Cons
- Food is kind of mediocre.
Coworking in Dahab
For years, Dahab’s been lacking a co-working space, especially since in recent years, it’s grown popular amongst digital nomads. It attracts digital nomads and remote workers coming from all corners of the world, and not just Cairo and Alexandria, due to its island-like life and affordability. Several coworking spaces opened and shut down over the years, but recently, a new space opened its doors and it’s doing a great job, so I thought I’d highlight it.
#9 El-Coworking Space
This is a typical co-working space, so if you need absolute silence and a library-like environment, this is the place to go. Normally, I prefer to have things happening around me to stimulate my brain – total silence can sometimes be way too quiet for me. However, I went there on days when I didn’t want any distractions and needed to get a lot of writing done. It’s a great option on days when you’re struggling with productivity, or if you’re someone who likes to work in an extremely quiet environment with zero interruptions. So, if you’d like to try something other than the typical digital nomad-friendly Dahab cafés, this one’s your go-to.
- WiFi: High-speed internet is available (they have 7 networks to connect to).
- Coffee/food: Unfortunately, their coffee wasn’t good.
- Atmosphere (& noise level): Low to none (unless there’s noise outside of the premises) – library-like atmosphere.
- Price range: Half-day pass for USD 5 (including unlimited water); Day pass for USD 10 (including coffee, tea, or orange juice + unlimited water); Monthly pass for USD 150 (including coffee, tea, or orange juice + unlimited water). Prices for Egyptians are the equivalent in EGP. *Please note that prices are always subject to change.
- Location: The Lighthouse area – on the promenade.
- Opening hours: Open daily from 8 AM – 1 AM.
Pros
- The best and most reliable internet in all of town – the rest of Dahab cafés and restaurants with WiFi don’t have such high-speed internet.
- Sea view available.
- They have various work settings to suit your style – whether you want to work on a desk, on a bean bag, or in semi-private seats, it’s all available.
- Comfortable office furniture.
- They have a relaxation zone on the poolside.
- AC available.
- They offer equipment rental if needed (laptops, monitors, headphones, printers, and scanners).
- They have a booth where you can have private calls.
Cons
- Their coffee wasn’t good, so I’d recommend you bring your own coffee and snacks.
- The place is right across from Blue Beach Bar, which often plays loud (and horrible) techno music, even during the day. So, it’s best if you bring your own headphones if that’s going to bother you.
- The restrooms’ lighting is barely existent.
- Might be pricey if you pay in EGP.
By bringing together productivity and breathtaking views, Dahab offers the perfect setting for remote work in Egypt. Whether you prefer a cozy, quiet work environment or the social buzz and its background noise, there’s a spot for every kind of digital nomad and remote worker. Make sure to save those Dahab cafés and spaces for your next stay, whether you’re aiming to relocate or just work remotely for a few days/weeks.
