How to Rent in Dahab: A Fool-Proof Guide to Long-Term Stays

Dahab is one of my favorite digital nomad destinations in Egypt. Known for having the perfect combo of laidback beach life and remote work-friendly environment, no wonder it’s attracting digital nomads from around the world like myself. And since I often book long-term stays and work remotely from there, I often get asked: how to […]

Wrapping up an inspiring few days at @arabian_trav Wrapping up an inspiring few days at @arabian_travel_market 2025 ✨
Attending a travel trade show as a travel blogger felt a little out of place to many at first, even to me. Most people were there for B2B deals, and creators aren’t usually the most common people on the ground… yet. But it was a risk I was willing to take, and I’m so glad I did. This definitely won’t be my last ATM.
What makes it even more special is that I was supposed to attend ATM a few years ago, but something always came up. This year, things finally aligned. And honestly, after reflecting on this, I believe this was when it was meant to happen, not back then—this was the right time for me to show up, fully ready.
It’s been such a rewarding experience connecting with tourism boards, DMCs, travel brands, fellow creators, and industry professionals who are shaping the future of travel.
I’m also really happy I got to reunite with some familiar faces from the industry and make new friends along the way. This is one of the best parts of events like this!
From insightful conversations to exciting new ideas and potential collaborations, I’m walking away feeling energized and proud. Proud of how far I’ve come with @curlsenroute, and grateful for the feedback and validation (which you sometimes need as a creator) I’ve received from a bunch of inspiring industry leaders.
Here’s to more growth, bold steps, and showing up even when it feels a little unconventional.
Until next time, Dubai 🧳🌍

9 years ago, I took my very first solo trip… and 9 years ago, I took my very first solo trip… and it was far from perfect (but life-changing).
I was alone, in a Nubian village that wasn’t even on the tourism map at the time, and I got really sick! Like, couldn’t-stand-up kind of sick…
But what could’ve been the worst experience turned into a core memory ✨ all thanks to the warmth and care of the people at @hadoutamasreya.
Fast forward 9 years, and I was back, healthier, more experienced, and just as in awe of this beautiful guesthouse, and its people.
Their hospitality hasn’t changed, and neither has the way this place makes you feel. Aswan will always be special to me, and Hadouta Masreya is a big part of why.
P.S. If you ever find yourself in Aswan, I got you a little treat! Use my promo code CURLSENROUTE10 to get 10% off your stay! All you have to do is book via email (hadoutamasreya@hotmail.com) and mention the promo code in your reservation.

Did you know that Egyptians have a spring holiday Did you know that Egyptians have a spring holiday that goes all the way back to Ancient Egyptian times? 🇪🇬🌻
Sham El Nessim has nothing to do with Easter, though the timing may trick you into thinking otherwise.
It’s actually a quite interesting tradition that’s been passed down for thousands of years. And the package comes with coloring eggs, salty fish, that are not for the faint-hearted, and a whole lot of green onions!
Swipe through for everything you need to know about the ancient holiday.
And happy Sham El Nessim if you’re celebrating!

In ancient Egypt, scarabs (dung beetles) symbolize In ancient Egypt, scarabs (dung beetles) symbolized growth, rebirth, and transformation 🪲 People wore scarab amulets for good luck and protection, and honestly, I’ve been obsessed with scarabs for as long as I can remember.
Anyhoo, legend has it that circling this scarab statue in Karnak Temple, Luxor, brings good fortune. Some say you should do 3 laps, others insist on 7, while some believe 3 brings luck and 7 brings a baby! There’s also a version where 3 is for luck, 7 for marriage, and 9 for pregnancy.
How the ritual started isn’t clear, but people still do it for fun anyway. 3 laps for good luck were more than enough for us 😅
How many laps would you do? 👀
