If you’re anything like me, a good cup of coffee can be more than just a luxury; it can actually make or break an entire trip, whether you’re camping, on a solo road trip, or living the hostel life. Some might recommend a camping coffee maker, but the problem with most of these is that they’re either too bulky, too messy, or just not up to your quality standards.
That’s why when I found FinalPress, I knew I won the coffee lottery! Compact? Check. Easy to use? Definitely. Eco-friendly? You bet. Makes hot coffee, tea, and even cold brew? Check, check, and check. So, if any of this sounds like your cup of tea (or coffee), read along for a full, honest review of my experience with the FinalPress camping coffee maker.

Why You Might Need a Camping Coffee Maker (even if you’re not camping)
#1 You’re a coffee lover who needs their daily morning fix
Coffee lovers, in particular, have difficulty adjusting to a new morning routine that doesn’t involve, well, coffee! That’s why camping in the outdoors or multi-day hiking trips may lead to some grumpy mornings for some of us. But that doesn’t have to be the case, at least not if you have a decent camping coffee maker.
#2 Most coffee makers aren’t built for travelers
Unfortunately, most camping coffee makers out there aren’t convenient enough. They’re either not compact enough or involve a complicated coffee-making process. They’re not all built with the practical or minimalist traveler in mind. So, if you got a chance to kiss bulky gear and complex setups goodbye, you’ll take it.
#3 Great coffee is hard to find on the road
Even if you’re not stuck in the outdoors with the minimum resources, finding your morning fix can be challenging, even if you’re traveling to foreign cities. It’s quite hard to find good coffee that’s up to your standards wherever you travel. So, if not every destination serves the quality you’re used to back home, why not bring your own?
#4 Save money without having to compromise your coffee standards
A portable camping coffee maker will also come in handy in the city if you want to save money. In fact, it’s one of the best ways to save money as a solo traveler. Skip the overpriced coffee shops, because now you can brew barista-level coffee on a budget and on the go.
How to Use the FinalPress Camping Coffee Maker
The FinalPress portable camping coffee maker helps you make both hot and cold brew without the need for a traditional brewer or any brewing skills. It simplifies the process of brewing and making a quality cup of coffee, which is pretty straightforward. Here’s how it works:

Step-by-Step Guide on How to Use FinalPress
- Add 2-3 tbsp of your favorite coffee grounds in the filter. FinalPress recommends grind sizes ranging from fine to medium for best results.
- Screw the filter back onto the plunger then place the filter into your travel mug.
- Slowly pour hot water into your mug. If you’re camping, you can obviously bring along a small teapot to heat water over a fire.
- Stir slowly for about 10 seconds, and make sure you’re holding the plunger from the top golden part, as the rest of it might get too hot.
- Let the filter rest in the mug for a couple of minutes, then stir again for another 10 seconds if you prefer your coffee strong.
- Pull out and press the plunger a few times to release rich flavor. You may repeat the process if needed.
P.S. You can make hot tea using the same process.
FinalPress Step-by-Step Guide for Cold Brew
- Add room temperature water to a mason jar, then place your FinalPress in the water.
- Pass the lid through your FinalPress plunger and screw it to the mason jar. The lid already comes with the rest of the FinalPress parts.
- Refiritate overnight.
- Stir and press the plunger, like in the first process, before drinking.
How to Clean Your FinalPress Camping Coffee Maker
Cleaning FinalPress at Home/Hotel/Hostel
- As soon as you receive your FinalPress, soak the parts in hot water and mild detergent for an hour for deep cleaning before the first use.
- After using, disassemble the parts and rinse with warm water to remove any coffee residue. Use a mild detergent and gently brush or scrub the filter and all the parts, then rinse again.
- If you use your FinalPress regularly, make sure to deep clean it on a weekly basis.
P.S. FinalPress is dishwasher safe and rust-free as it’s made of 100% stainless steel.

Cleaning FinalPress in the Outdoors
- When you’re out camping, make sure to rinse your FinalPress immediately after using it, using clean water, if available. Use a water bottle to pour water over the parts and remove any coffee residue.
- Wipe it down using a tissue to remove any leftovers or moisture.
- Let it air dry for a bit to avoid any moldy smells.
My Experience Using FinalPress
So far, I’ve tested my FinalPress several times in multiple settings. First time I tested it was at home, because I was so excited to try it out, to be honest, and I was blown away! The coffee tasted incredible; it was silky smooth, and it tasted just like barista-made filtered coffee, just minus all the paper filters and the brewing skills. It was also very easy to use, and the process was pretty easy to understand as well. The package came with a straightforward instructions sheet, and there’s a very helpful tutorial video on the official website as well, if you like visual aids like me.

I also tried it while traveling – I took it on a camping trip in Fayoum, and I also used it while staying in a guesthouse in Aswan. All I had to do was pack my own coffee and boil some water. Like I mentioned before, cleaning it was a piece of cake, and it wasn’t messy at all, especially in the outdoors. FinalPress comes with a silicone cover so you don’t have to worry about the filter touching any of your stuff when you pack it. And speaking of packing, I love that it’s super lightweight and pocket-sized.

FinalPress Pros
- No brewing skills are needed, and making coffee never seemed easier.
- It’s so easy to clean.
- It’s super portable as it’s both light and pocket-sized.
- The product is eco-friendly as it eliminates the waste of paper filters and capsules.
- It’s 100% stainless steel, so it’s a durable product that’s meant to last.
- It can be used to make both coffee and tea, as well as cold brews.
FinalPress Cons
- The only downside, in my opinion, is that cold brew can be time-consuming and only limited to home use or anywhere where you basically have access to a fridge. I’m more of an iced coffee gal, so that was my only problem with the product.
Where to Get FinalPress?
You can order your FinalPress through their official website. I wouldn’t recommend purchasing it from a reseller to guarantee the authenticity of the product. The product is sold for USD 69, and there’s a limited-time offer right now, and it’s for USD 39 only! You also get a decent discount if you buy 2 or more.
Not just that, but I also have a special promo code that gives my readers 10% off! All you have to do is enter the promo code CER10 at checkout.
Final Verdict
If you’re looking for a portable camping coffee maker that’s easy to use and, more importantly, makes great coffee, I think FinalPress is your best choice. Personally, I think it’s absolutely worth the investment, given all the product’s pros listed earlier, especially when you compare it to other brewers in the market.

I have been seeing ads for this thing and I was curious about it. I am serious about my coffee so I really
appreciate seeing a review from someone who has actually used it on the trail. Thanks.
I’ve been using this for months before I decided to write about my experience, and I’ve tested it in the outdoors, in hotels, and at home, like I mentioned up there. So, this is definitely my honest opinion 🙂
